Ronnie Sarkar is a private markets investor, operator and company builder with over 20 years of experience who advises Fusion’s founders on funding, mergers and acquisitions and corporate strategy.
About Ronnie
Ronnie brings deep experience across specialty finance, private markets and asset-based lending, with a track record as an investor, operator and company builder. As Board Advisor to Fusion Consulting Group, he works closely with the founders on funding strategy, acquisitions and the long-term direction of the group, helping them turn an ambitious buy-and-build vision into lasting value.
He began his career at PwC before moving into asset management at Insight Investment. He later joined Funding Circle, the publicly listed small business lender, where he worked at the forefront of the shift towards alternative finance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). He also has first-hand experience of building a consolidator, working alongside the founders of Titan Wealth to build and fund the business and complete its initial acquisitions, establishing its platform in discretionary fund management, custody and execution. Titan has since grown into one of the UK’s largest wealth management and asset servicing groups, with more than £40 billion of client assets across the UK, the Channel Islands and internationally. He went on to serve as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of SME Capital, a specialist lender providing long-term growth capital and acquisition finance to established businesses at important strategic moments. In that role he got to know Fusion early in its growth journey and SME Capital’s backing helped fund the group’s first acquisitions.
“Good businesses rarely fail for lack of ambition. They stumble when the capital, the deal and the strategy don’t fit together, so I’m delighted to work with Adam and Mitch to realise the ambition: the consolidation of professional services is something I believed would naturally translate into the SME and mid-market having been implemented by the Big 4 over the past two decades. Fusion is well positioned to take advantage of this opportunity.”
He spent the last three years building his own startup in the specialist mortgage market space and today, Ronnie is a partner and Head of Business Development at Fintex Capital, a London-based private markets investment manager that has provided more than £400 million in capital to borrowers across specialty finance, property finance and asset-backed lending. He sits on Fintex’s investment committee and leads its origination, investor relations and strategy.
Having worked with growing businesses as a lender, adviser, founder and partner to founders, Ronnie understands what it takes to finance and execute a buy-and-build strategy: raising the right capital, assessing and integrating targets and building the governance and reporting that lenders and investors expect. He brings the perspective of someone who has sat on every side of the table, and the network to match.
At Fusion, Ronnie supports Adam, Mitch and the leadership team as the group continues to grow across tax, accountancy, legal, financial planning and recruitment. His focus is on making sure each step, whether a new funding round, an acquisition or a strategic decision, is well structured, properly financed and aligned with the group’s long-term ambitions.
