About Mitch

Most of Mitch’s clients have spent decades building something: a business, a property portfolio, a family’s wealth. He works with them when the decisions get bigger, and so does the cost of getting them wrong. That can mean selling the company or bringing the next generation in (or deciding not to). It can mean taking money out without paying more tax than necessary, or restructuring ahead of a sale, a new investor or a shareholder dispute. And it often means planning what happens to everything on death.

Mitch became a tax partner at 29. In 2015 he co-founded Fusion Consulting Group with Adam Maurice, and together they have built a group that brings tax, accountancy, legal and wealth advice under one roof. That model reflects how he works. A sale involves lawyers and wealth planning as well as tax, and succession is as much about family as it is about legislation.

“The big decisions in a business owner’s life are rarely just tax problems. I’d rather the right advisers were sitting at the same table than passing the problem between them.”

Building Fusion has also taught him things no tax qualification covers: hiring, pricing, cash flow, and fixing the wrong call. When founders explain what they’re trying to achieve, he listens as someone who has sat on their side of the table.
